Marcus Jordan Arrested in Florida on DUI and Cocaine Possession Charges

Early Tuesday morning in Maitland, Florida Marcus Jordan, the 34-year-old son of NBA great Michael Jordan, was detained. He is accused of driving under the influence (DUI), possessing cocaine, and resisting arrest without using force.

Incident Details

Officers from the Maitland Police Department found Marcus Jordan’s blue Lamborghini SUVimmobilizedd on railway tracks close to Greenwood Road and Mechanic Street at 1:14 a.m. The partially submerged tires of the car suggested attempts to remove it from rocks and soil. Ten minutes were estimated for a commuter train passing the area.

Officers smelt alcohol when they got to the car and noted Marcus Jordan had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. He told the cops he had turned around improperly and needed help to get his car off the rails. Additional research revealed claims that the car had supposedly left a traffic stop, which had been started by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office just before the incident.

Field Sobriety Tests and Arrest

Marcus Jordan came clean about earlier in the evening alcohol intake at venues like Rachel’s Gentleman’s Club in the Winter Park and Casselberry areas. He said his blood alcohol level was less than the legal limit. But after failing three field sobriety tests, cops arrested him on DUI suspicion. His jeans pocket tested positive for cocaine after a search turned out a transparent plastic bag filled with white powdered material.

Resisting Arrest and Detention

Marcus Jordan objected to entering the patrol car and asked why he was being treated like a criminal, according to the arrest record. He thereafter came under accusations of nonviolatively disobeying an authority. Booked into the Orange County Jail, his bail was set at $4,000. Later that day, when he was released, he avoided reporters.

Background

Marcus Jordan is Michael Jordan‘s second eldest of his five sons. 2009–2012 saw him play collegiate basketball for the University of Central Florida. He was detained in Omaha, Nebraska, in 2012 for disorderly behavior and resisting arrest; accusations to which he subsequently entered a not-guilty plea. More recently, he attracted media interest for his relationship with Scottie Pippen, the ex-wife of his father’s former colleague; the pair parted in 2024.
