Accident Details and Investigation
Hudson Meek got hurt when he fell from a moving car on December 19, 2024, in the 1900 block of Canyon Road in Vestavia Hills. He was hit hard. He was taken to UAB Hospital, but two days later he died from his injuries. There are currently investigations going on at the Vestavia Hills Police Department into what happened.

In 2014, Hudson Meek got his start as an actor with a part in the TV movie The Santa Con. He became well-known when he played the main character’s younger self in Baby Driver. His other starring work includes roles in the reboot series of MacGyver, Genius, and the new thriller The School Duel. He also did voice work for kids’ shows and different brands.

Hudson Meek was involved at Vestavia Hills High School as a sophomore. He was on the football team, sang in the Honour Choir, and ran for student government. He loved to travel and had been to all fifty U.S. states. He also liked being outside and doing things like scuba diving (he got his advanced open water license at age 14) and snow skiing. Hudson Meek was a devout Christian who was known for having a lively personality, a quick wit, and a love for making people laugh.

Hudson Meek has an older brother, parents, grandmothers, and other family who will miss him. His family said, “His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and had a significant impact on everyone he met.” They were sad and thankful for the way he affected people’s lives. His agent said of him, “an extraordinary young talent, whose dedication, passion, and promise shone brightly within our industry.”
Memorial Service and Scholarship Fund
On December 28, 2024, at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, Alabama, there will be a Celebration of Life event. Visitation will start at 9:30 am central time. The service will be livestreamed on both Hudson Meek’s Instagram and his mom’s Facebook page. Instead of flowers, the family has set up the Hudson J. Meek Memorial Scholarship, which will be given to a Vestavia Hills High School student every year.
