In recent times one common problem which everyone is facing is being overweight, be it small children, teenagers, adults or old people. Many people have made changes in their diets such as following a special k diet, plant-based diets, the paleo diet, low-fat diet, dash diet, and the list goes on. 

Ideal Weight For We Humans

When anyone wants to know the ideal weight for them, then some of the factors which affect them are age, gender, height, and body frame size. Mainly height-weight charts are used correlated between these two factors. Using these charts you will find three states such as:

  • Healthy weight: Person meets all the defined parameters and ratios.
  • Underweight: A person is not meeting the defined parameters and his ratio is below the given standards.
  • Overweight: In this case, the person is exceeding the given parameters, their ratio is very high as per the given standards

In the below case would give some examples for males and females both

Male Height – 5.8” Ideal weight range: 63 to 77 Kg

Female Height – 5.5” Ideal weight range: 51 to 63 Kg

Body Mass Index

One of the ideal ways to know what is the correct ideal weight for your body is to know the BMI(Body Mass Index) measurement of your body. It is the ideal weight of the human body taking into consideration the height of that person. With help of that, we would also be able to know the actual body percentage in the human body.

As per the world, health organization standards for an adult who has BMI between 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight. If the BMI of any person is above 30 then that person is considered overweight. If a person is having BMI below 18.5 then that person is considered underweight. So the ideal or healthy BMI number would be ranging between 18.5 to 24.9.

BMI Is Not Applicable To Everyone

BMI is a good way to the measurement of obesity for many people, but it cannot be applied to all people it fails to give perfect details on body composition like the amount of muscle, bone, fat, and tissues and etc.

Let us take into consideration a muscular person who may fall in an overweight category when they are actually fit and fine. Also, a person who has less body fat percentage maybe would have a similar BMI score to a person who is obese. BMI figures are very unclear for various categories such as children, teenagers, pregnant females, bodybuilders more clarification and detailing needs to be done on the above-mentioned categories.

This method is also used currently to check the ideal weight and size of a person. In this case, we would measure a person’s waist-to-hip ratio wherein we would check the waist size compared to their hips. According to the research people who have more fats around their waist are most likely to develop heart-related disease and may suffer from type 2 diabetes. 

If a person’s waist is 30 inches and their hips are 38 inches, in that case, we would divide 30 by 38. That would come as 0.78.  For males 0.9 to 0.99, the risk is modest, for females, 0.8 to 0.89 is modest. For males anything above 1, the risk is high and for females anything above 0.9 is high.

Eat Healthy Food

It is important that people who should start eating healthy food include more plant-based foods in their diet. Green vegetables and fruits would be ideal to keep the weight in control. You can have boiled eggs and grilled chicken with less oil. Try to stay away from suet, so what is suet, it form of animal fat used to make various dishes. Along with that stay hydrated all day long, drink plenty of water that also in a sitting position as this is good for health. Eat seasonal and local fruits and vegetables that would also be very good for your health. As this thing suits your body naturally.

Physical Activity

Try to indulge in some kind of physical activity such as going to the gym, playing with kids, playing some kind of sports. If not go for a walk in the early morning or night as per your daily schedule. Along with do some Vipassana mediation, which would keep your body and mind peaceful throughout the day.

The ideal weight for your human body can be calculated by using above mentioned methods, important thing is that people should feel fresh and light this would help them to keep their body healthy. Do follow some regime to maintain that kind of body. Stay away from refined foods, if possible maintain a food diary and try to burn the extra calories which you had for that day.
