10 Healthy Reasons to Give up Sugar Forever

Sugar is one of the most popular foods. It is often used as an additive in various dishes so people consume sugar in almost every meal. Sugar dependency is very dangerous to health. The more sugary foods you eat, the faster your body ages. Sugar is everywhere, but eating too much of it creates the risk of serious diseases.

1. Increase Immunity

The speed and accuracy of sugar action can be compared with vitamin C, but sugar has the exact opposite effect. This is due to the similar chemical structure of glucose (the simplest form of sugar) and vitamin C. In this regard, the cells responsible for maintaining immunity mistakenly attract sugar instead of the necessary vitamin. Sugar slows down their work, which leads to immunity disease. Refusing sugar is the first step to strengthening immunity.

2. Improves Skin Condition

This is manifested not only in rashes and acne. Sugar also contributes to the premature formation of wrinkles. This feature is associated with collagen, a connective protein that is responsible for skin elasticity. Sugar accumulates in collagen, which reduces its elasticity.

3. Improves Mood

Many people believe that sweets cheer them up but in the longer term, sugar becomes the cause of apathy and depression. This is especially true for females. Giiving up sugar will also cause you to lose weight and feel better.

4. Good for Oral Health

Most likely you heard from your family dentist that the worst enemy of healthy teeth is sugar. Sugar creates a favorable breeding ground for bacteria in the mouth. Moreover, cavities are far from the worst thing. “Sweet” bacteria multiply throughout the body, thereby facilitating the appearance of all kinds of candidiasis and dysbiosis.

5. Increase Energy

Many eat sweets, knowing that, like caffeine, it gives a surge of vigor and energy. But we forget that this action is very short-lived. As soon as the body burns a substance, fatigue piles on us. To avoid feeling groggy  limit your sugar intake and add complex carbohydrates to your diet. You can find them in legumes and whole-grain pasta.

6. Reduce the Risk of Chronic Diseases

In addition to diabetes, sugar is associated with many diseases that arise against the background of long inflammatory processes in the body. Try to give up sweets and track the changes in your body. Perhaps a lot of minor health troubles that you are used to experiencing will also go away.

7. Get Rid of Vitamin Deficiency

Even with proper nutrition, you risk facing manifestations of vitamin deficiency such as nervous irritability, digestive disorders, chronic fatigue, and decreased vision. This is because sugar requires the presence of B vitamins for processing so it absorbs them. If you are not taking B vitamins as a supplement, keep in mind that sugar will remove them from the bloodstream, muscles, liver, kidneys, heart, skin, and eyes.

8. Get Rid of Sugar Addiction

The desire to eat something sweet is a sign of sugar addiction. In order to reduce the narcotic effect of sugar, refuse to add it to tea and coffee. It will be the first small step to stop buying any harmful sweets every day. Replace your usual sweets with fruits and berries.

9. Weight Loss

When you eat sweets, your blood sugar rises sharply so you feel full. But after a few minutes, when the blood glucose level drops sharply, you feel hunger and run the risk of overeating. In addition, high blood sugar triggers the deposition of fat. Therefore, some completely harmless sandwiches with turkey and a cup of sweet soda or coffee can lead to significant weight gain. To saturate the body for a long time and maintain an even level of sugar in the blood, eat complex carbohydrates such  buckwheat, whole grain bread, and oatmeal.

10. Improves Sleep

High sugar levels can cause restless sleep and frequent awakenings. Sweets also make us feel depressed, which is felt as constant stress and despair which interrupts healthy sleeping. Refusing sugar will quickly change the situation and give you good sleep, which will replenish your energy level.
